Father of Autistic Child Helps Connect Other Parents Facing Autism Autism Friend Finder Program continues to bring parents and caregivers together on a local level. (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 -- Nearly four months after its initial debut, a program designed to connect parents of children with autism (http://www.autismkey.com) spectrum disorders continues to grow in popularity. The Autism Friend Finder Program, offered by Autism Key, is a way for parents and caregivers of autistic children to meet others in their community for support and friendship.
"The initial response to the program was overwhelming," said Gary Greaves, owner and operator of Autism Key.
"It shows how desperate people are to find others in their area who are experiencing similar challenges," he added.
Greaves, who is the father of an autistic child, says his site also offers a wealth of information and autism support (http://www.autismkey.com).
"In addition to the Friend Finder Program, Autism Key offers a lot of other content for people wanting to learn about autism spectrum disorders. We have an autism message boards (http://www.autismkey.com) section, updated news, and links to other great websites," noted Greaves.
Participation in the Friend Finder Program only requires a first name, valid email address and zip code. An automated system then returns results of others who reside within a 30 mile radius, allowing participants to begin communicating via email.
"I receive emails from other parents who are really appreciative of the program. It has offered people the chance to make life-long friends," Greaves said.
