Swinton Specialist Reveals Japanese Cars are UK Favourites

New research has revealed that Japanese cars are now the most popular brands when drivers are requesting specialist car insurance quotes, according to leading insurance broker Swinton Specialist. The research supports a recent study by What Car? magazine, which revealed that Japanese cars are considered the most reliable models.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2010

Quotes for Japanese cars accounted for 26% of the total number of car insurance quotes provided by the performance and modified car insurance broker in the last quarter. The statistics prove that Japanese models are quickly becoming the UK’s preferred specialist cars of choice, with the levels of imports continuing to grow.

The Subaru Impreza is currently the top performance car choice, according to Swinton customers.

Rob Asher, head of Swinton Specialist, said: “Over the years, we have seen a consistent increase in requests from customers who are looking for the best specialist insurance quotes on Japanese car models. The perception of these cars is that they are solid and reliable, in addition to looking good and being a sufficient size for a family or work car. These factors have helped to make Japanese models the top choice for many of our customers in the UK, and it’s a trend we don’t foresee slowing down anytime soon.”

The top ten most popular Japanese performance cars, according to Swinton Specialist, are:

SUBARU IMPREZA
MITSUBISHI PAJERO
TOYOTA ESTIMA
MITSUBISHI LANCER
MITSUBISHI FTO
MAZDA EUNOS
TOYOTA HILUX
NISSAN SKYLINE
TOYOTA MR2
TOYOTA SUPRA
