Pickens, McClendon Named Energy Advocates of the Year 14th Annual International Energy Policy Conference (IEPC) hosted top energy industry speakers, and awarded industry giants for their outstanding service to communities. Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) September 28, 2006 -- Chesapeake CEO Aubrey McClendon was honored by The Energy Advocates as “Energy Advocate of the Year” at last week’s International Energy Policy Conference (IEPC) held at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, Texas. T. Boone Pickens was honored with the “Energy Advocate of the Year Lifetime Achievement” Award.
Other award winners: Chickasaw Enterprises received The Energy Advocate of the Year (Community Involvement) Award, A.M. “Mac” Alloway of Tony Oil Company and Chairman of the Energy Advocates received a Special Lifetime Achievement Award, and Schlumberger received the Sherman E. Smith Energy Advocate of the Year Corporate Award.
“Awards are given annually at the International Energy Policy Conference. This year’s awards focused on recipients’ community involvement. The recipients are great examples of leadership in their community,” stated Mark A. Stansberry, IEPC Chairman. “IEPC 2007 will host various events in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and throughout the state - all part of Oklahoma’s Centennial Celebration. IEPC is an official 2007 Centennial Event.”
At the Annual Energy Advocates Membership Meeting, held in conjunction with the conference, Dr. Charles Mankin, A. M. “Mac” Alloway, Ken Oglesby, Dr. Bob Delano, and Will Smith were elected as The Energy Advocates Board of Directors for 2007.
Speakers included: The Honorable Robert W. Jordan, Senior Partner of Baker and Botts and former U. S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, R. Dobie Langenkamp, Edward W. Blessing, James A. Beck, among others.
