(PRWEB) August 22, 2002 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 20, 2002 Contact: Della, Media Relations Manager 540-955-5510, veramar1@msn.com Veramar Vineyard takes medals at 2002 Indy International the "Wine Olympics"! The Indy International is one of the most comprehensive International wine competitions in USA. The vast facilities of the Indiana State Fair in conjunction with the administrative capabilities of Purdue University's enology and computer science programs founded the Indy International Wine Competition in 1992. This alliance, along with additional support from American Airlines, Marsh Supermarkets and some of America's finest wine judges, has since advanced this event into a comprehensive international gathering ranking among the largest in the western hemisphere. Another record number, 3262 wines from around the world were swirled, sipped and evaluated by 60 expert wine judges at the Indy International Wine Competition. Wines flowed in from Australia, Italy, Romania and twelve other countries to compete for coveted awards at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Expo Hall which hosts one of the nation's largest wine competition. The judges, who are proven experts, are recruited from wine research, education, marketing, media and other related viniculture disciplines. Every July, they gather to serve on ten panels, which includes five judges. Each judge does careful "blind" tasting and agrees upon which entries are moved forward to receive Bronze, Silver or the highly coveted Gold Medal. Some call the Indy International the "Wine Olympics"! Continued High Praise for Veramar Vineyard Chardonnay & Chambourcin A selection of reviews from highly regarded sources.
