St. Albans, VT (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- In an interview on Vermont Viewpoint Online, Attorney General William Sorrell poses whether NY State would approve the tire burning at the International Paper plant if it were in Buffalo instead of Ticonderoga. The prevailing westerly winds make the tire burning a source of concern for Vermonters and Sorrell and his staff have been attempting to stop the burning from happening by petitioning the EPA.

Sorrell, who is running for Vermont Attorney General, is questioned by host Don Lewellen on his background and his qualifications for holding the position of Attorney General. Sorrell is running for his 5th term. He was originally appointed by then Governor Howard Dean in 1997 and has since run successfully in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004. Also covered in the interview are the duties of the attorney general, global warming concerns, end-of-life issues, the Supreme Court case of last February regarding campaign spending limits, and the settlement against the tobacco industry that provides $25 million per year to the State of Vermont.
