Brooks-Range to Release Professional Ski Guide Cards

Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co. releases definitive Ski Mountaineering tool for Backcountry Guides and travelers.

Telluride, CO (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- Furthering its strategy to deliver top-quality mountaineering equipment to the professional and seasoned winter backcountry traveler alike, Matt Brooks, President of Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Co., announced today at the annual ISSW (International Snow Science Workshop) Conference that Brooks-Range has released an updated 3rd version of ski mountaineering cards for use in the backcountry that contain virtually all the knowledge checklists he and other professional guides use while ski mountaineering and winter backcountry travel.

“These cards contain incredible breadth and depth of winter backcountry information,” Brooks stated. “The content ranges from snow profiling, snow pit testing, avalanche observation, prediction and rescue, to handy conversion tables and up-to-date contact numbers for regional and international avalanche information.”

The cards were developed by Jan Johnston-Tyler, a technical communications professional. “The cards were designed to fit inside the standard field book used by professionals,” Johnston-Tyler noted, and are “printed on a lightweight, plastic paper substitute, making them waterproof and virtually indestructible.”

The Brooks-Range Ski Mountaineering Card set comprises 11 cards, printed in full color on both sides of the special paper. They are expected to retail for around $25 per set, and contain relevant information currently used in the US, Alaska, Canada, and Europe.
