Atria Wins Wine Spectator Magazines Coveted Award of Excellence

Edgartown, MA- April 1, 2003 ... Just three years after opening its doors, Atria, on Edgartowns Main Street, is the proud recipient of Wine Spectator Magazines coveted Award of Excellence.

The editors of Wine Spectator grant the award to restaurants it believes have a wine list that deserves special recognition. Stan Dodson, Atrias

conversant wine steward, has carefully built a cellar which emphasizes flexibility for diners while matching chef Christian Thorntons eclectic

fusion of Asian, French, Mediterranean and American dishes.

Atria is the only restaurant on Marthas Vineyard to have earned the Wine Spectators Award of Excellence and joins an ultra-exclusive

assemblage of honorees around the world that include NYC icons like Le Perigord, The Palm , the Oak Room at The Plaza Hotel and the

Hotel Elysees Monkey Bar.

The world famous Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel in L.A. and the Washington, D.C. landmarks, The Equinox, Mendicino Grill &

Wine Bar and 1789 Restaurant are also Wine Spectator Award of Excellence recipients.

Award of Excellence winners closer to home include several Boston hotspots: The Capital Grille, Davios, Olives and the Meridien Hotels

exclusive Julien restaurant. The significance of this accomplishment gains greater perspective when you consider that Aujourdhui at Bostons Four Seasons Hotel, like Atria is a new Award of Excellence recipient.

Jasper White and Wolgang Puck, regulars at Atria when on-Island, know that a good meal complemented by exceptional wine is one of

lifes great pleasures. With Atria taking its wine list as seriously as its menu, there are more opportunities than ever for diners to enjoy the perfect blend of wine and food and Marthas Vineyard.

See for yourself why Wine Spectator (Aug.02) rates Atria as one of The Best Restaurants In The World for Wine Lovers" or why the

Boston Phoenix (June, '02) raves that chef Christian Thorntons food is simply spectacular" and why Zagat declares that in a lovely

space....its easy to see why the smitten swear theyd 'be here every night if they were millionaires."
