NAMWOLF Lauds Law Firm Member Andrea M. Buford’s and Blonde Grayson Hall’s Article Confronting Corporate America’s Lack of Retention of Minority-owned Firms The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) commends law firm member Andrea M Buford’s and Blonde Grayson Hall’s article ‘Call for Action, Not Mere Words’ in the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section (NBACLS) newsletter in summer, 2006. Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) October 4, 2006 -- The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) commends law firm member Andrea M Buford’s and Blonde Grayson Hall’s article ‘Call for Action, Not Mere Words’ in the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section (NBACLS) newsletter in summer, 2006.
The article tackles the issue of Corporate America failing to hire and retain minority-owned law firms. The article stresses the fact that there is a push by corporations towards retaining black attorneys at majority-owned firms and not utilizing smaller, but as-qualified, minority-owned law firms. Buford and Hall appeal to Corporate America to provide a fair sum of outsourced legal work to African-American firms based on the percentages that African-Americans consume many goods the businesses offer.
“It is inspiring to see a member of NAMWOLF confront the issue which our organization so strongly works to correct,” said Yolanda Coly, Associate Director of NAMWOLF. “The article will certainly further beneficial discussions on this important topic in Corporate America.”
