Holidaymakers Set to Waste £62m on Foreign Travel Credit Card Charges The Post Office advises UK holidaymakers on the potential costs of using a travel credit card abroad. London, UK (PRWeb UK) September 3, 2010 Post Office Credit Card research has revealed that UK holidaymakers are set to fork out more than £60m in charges for using their travel credit card abroad during the remainder of 2010. More than half (55 per cent) of those surveyed said that they would be charged a fee by their travel credit card issuer for using their travel credit card abroad, while an additional 13 per cent admitted they didn't know if their travel credit card carried charges. With many travel credit card providers charging fees of up to 2.99 per cent, shoppers abroad could be unknowingly adding pounds to every purchase if relying on their travel credit card while abroad. Post Office Credit Cards advises that before they travel, UK holidaymakers should be aware of the charges they might incur on their travel credit card while abroad. Travellers who frequently use a travel credit card on holiday are also advised to do their research, and make sure they are getting the best deals possible when choosing a travel credit card. Post Office Head of Cards Az Alibhai said: "This summer, millions of travelers will waste money on unnecessary travel credit card fees, and worryingly many are not even aware of how much this will increase their holiday spending. By using a fee-free travel credit card, like the travel credit card available from the Post Office, people can enjoy that little bit of extra cash on holiday." ###
