MidSouth Author's High Fantasy Series Finally Complete

H. David Blalock's high fantasy series reaches its completion with the release of the sixth and final book, the culmination of a process that began over 30 years ago.

Memphis, TN (PRWEB) October 5, 2006 -- It took him nearly a lifetime, but it’s finally done.

H. David Blalock’s high fantasy series comes to a close with the release of “Ultima Thran: Book Six of the Thran Chronicles”, now available. “Ultima Thran” signals the culmination of a project Blalock began in the early 1970’s.

“The idea for the series began literally as a dream,” Blalock said. “I had originally written the Chronicles as a single volume, but the logistics of producing the book proved too much for me. I could not find a publisher willing to take on the risk of a first-time novelist with a 1,200 page book.”

The Thran Chronicles manuscript remained unpublished until Blalock discovered an online publisher called Booklocker.com.

“Booklocker has made it possible for me to finally bring this story to the public. I cannot praise Booklocker highly enough,” Blalock said.

The Thran Chronicles is set far in Earth’s past, but crosses dimensions and time lines during the course of the story. Although the majority of the story has to do with a single family in five generations, the overall story arc is eventually proven to be seen through the eyes of one man, Baliak Kel Mari, who is not human but a being called Kel.

“Traditionally, high fantasy has dealt with the races introduced to literature by men like J.R.R. Tolkien,” Blalock said. “Although the non-humans in the Chronicles are similar, I believe the reader will realize that they are most definitely not the same.”
