Stonewall Golf Club Celebrates Labor Day by Honoring the Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces For the fourth consecutive year, Stonewall Golf Club partners with the PGA, USGA and Play Golf America to support our military and their families. Gainesville, VA (Vocus) September 3, 2010 Stonewall Golf Club will once again participate in the fourth annual Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association. This Labor Day weekend Stonewall Golf Club will donate $1 from every round of golf played to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. Golfers are invited to donate additional funds if they choose to support this cause as well. “Labor Day weekend is generally treated as a celebration and marks the end of summer, but the real meaning is to recognize and honor the brave men and women that serve our great nation,” says Gary Huebner, General Manager at Stonewall Golf Club, “Since the start of Patriot Golf Day, we have been a participating course and feel it’s important to do our part in honoring these individuals both past and present.” Folds of Honor provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. Through events across the country since 2007, PGA Professionals have helped raise more than $5.3 million, allowing the Folds of Honor Foundation to award 1,163 post-secondary educational scholarships.
