Columbus Day Parade of New Jersey to Take Place Oct. 8

Celebrations in Bergen County with an Italian twist.

(PRWEB) October 4, 2006 -- Sunday, October 8, 2006, residents of Bergen and nearby counties can celebrate their own special Columbus Day, with a parade and a memorable concert.

The event, at its eleventh edition, will kick-off at 11:00 AM, with opening ceremonies at the Lodi Columbus Square (Main Street/Municipal Building. The parade will then commence at 12 - noon, moving towards Garfield and ending at Danhert's Lake (Midland Avenue). There will be decorative-themed floats, high school marching bands, our proud men and women of the armed forces, police and fire rescue, antique cars and much more. This year Grand Marshal will be Congressman Bill Pascrell. Other important dignitaries from Italy and US will attend as well.

Later on in the day, at 6:30 P.M. there will be an unforgettable folkloric concert from Naples, featuring the Choirs of Ercolano & Somma Vesuviana. Directors: Mo Domenico Cozzolino, Mo Salvatore De Crescenzo. Choreography by Angelo Parisi, musical Arrangement by Mo Roberto Esposito Mocerino. The concert is free and open to the public.
