Independant consultancy organisation recommends Parallels Compressor to all users of VMware, VirtualPC and Parallels Desktop

Our tests conducted using VMware Workstation, took a Windows Server 2003 installation and a SQL 2000 installation. Two virtual disks, one of 3.1gb and the other 3.4gb. A few service packs to bring the installations upto date. Then we copied some data around the disks and created two sql databases.

Parallels Compressor for Servers was installed and let loose with the Advanced Settings configured to maximum compression, the results are below....

Starting Size: 3,158,784

End Size: 2,166,656

% Reduction: 31%

While this was only a small test installation a 30+% reduction in diskspace is considerable. Anything4aeuro recommends that every user of VMware, VirtualPC or even Parallels Desktop buy this product!
