Online College Grants 'Three Wishes'

The New Curiosity Shop, an innovative online college based in Scotland, launches a new way to learn online -- by granting three wishes.

Edinburgh, Scotland (PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- The New Curiosity Shop, an innovative online college based in Scotland, has launched a novel way to learn online, by granting ‘Three Wishes.’

The ‘Three Wishes’ is a collection of very short courses that are available at any time, day or night; students can begin learning as soon as they enrol. All materials and learning activities are available online and each course has a support forum for students.

Best of all, learners have the support of a genie -- the tutor -- and can ask up to three questions -- the three wishes.

A Three Wishes course is typically around six hours of study, but a student has up to a month in which to tackle the tutor-supported assignments; the course remains available for a year.

Noel Chidwick, Founding Partner of the New Curiosity Shop, explains: “A Three Wishes course is ideal if you want to learn something new, but you don’t have a great deal of time in your busy week. It’s also a gentle and painless way to ease yourself back into learning if you’ve been away from formal learning for a while. It’s a fun way to find out what it’s like to learn over the Internet.”

At the beginning, the fees are set low at £20 (British Pounds) a course (about $35 USD), while the approach is being evaluated.
