Before becoming an author, C. Kirkham spent much of her time dealing with computers and creating technical material and business plans for various companies. Her passion for Friesian horses was kindled in 1998 when she sought a horse for purchase on the Internet. Since then, she has studied as much as possible about the breed that faced near extinction in the early 1900s.
