Cannabis Tea to be the Next Red Bull? As Red Bull is gaining more and more ground for its (extreme) sports activities (if you have a peak at Red Bull website, the product section is optional) other upcoming energy drinks are setting their foot onto the market London, UK (PRWEB) October 14, 2006 -- That’s the case of C-Ice, an ice tea that contains cannabis (hemp). Launched in June, it has already achieved some great exposure being served in some exclusive venues (such the Absolute Ice Bar in London - which incidentally has recently been voted “Best New Bar” at the London Club and Bar Awards 2006)
C-ICE – CANNABIS ICE TEA
Would you like some cannabis with your tea madam?
The company claim that: “Tea is full of anti-oxidants and hemp is loaded with enzymes, vitamins and minerals. Its protein content, amino acids, omega oils, gamma-linolenic acid and a perfect ratio of essential fatty acids make C-ICE a magical little infusion”. The removal of any THC’s* (Tetrahydrocannbinal - the psycho-active element in cannabis) is what makes it legal to sell and consume C-ICE - Home Office approval has been granted for the UK. C-ICE is also available in other EEC countries plus South Africa.
We asked the company why they chose the Swiss flag, and they said “although C-ICE is actually an Austrian owned company” “the reason we have the Swiss flag on our cans of C-ICE is that the cannabis (hemp) we use is grown in Switzerland”; strange place to grow cannabis, but after a quick search we found out that in Switzerland there is a very strange situation with cannabis…
So while Red Bull consumers keep going younger and younger (which actually worries me…), C-Ice drink is definitely aiming to an “uppermarket” clientele (even thus you will find it in grocery stores). Well we cannot compare the two, being so different in magnitude and taste; but one thing is for sure: while Red Bull drink is like Marmite (you get addicted, or you hate its medicinal like taste), C-Ice with its pleasant taste, could embrace a wider audience
Well here it is, another energy drink: would they become the next Red Bull?
