MTV Award-Winning Filmmakers Premiere 22nd Film at the IMAX Theatre

MTV award-winning filmmakers and Iowa-natives Scott Beck & Bryan Woods will premiere their 22nd film, "The Bride Wore Blood: A Contemporary Western" on the big screen at the Putnam IMAX Theatre on Saturday, November 11 at 7:30 PM.

(PRWEB) October 16, 2006 -- Iowa-based filmmakers and University of Iowa seniors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, both 22, will premiere their latest film, “The Bride Wore Blood,” at the Putnam IMAX Theatre in Davenport, Iowa on Saturday, November 11 at 7:30 PM.

The film was produced by Beck and Woods’ production company, Bluebox Limited Films. In December 2005, Beck & Woods received a development deal from MTV Films, a division of Paramount Pictures.

“The Bride Wore Blood” is a contemporary Western about a bounty hunter who is hired to protect a bride-to-be. When secrets reveal the past, blood is shed and a deadly mystery unfolds. The film has a suggested rating of PG-13.

The production grew from Beck and Woods’ desire to start a smaller project while they were negotiating contract terms with MTV Films. The film was financed by a 42” Plasma HDTV – which Beck and Woods won for mtvU’s Best Film on Campus contest and later sold on eBay. Beck and Woods shot “The Bride Wore Blood” in Summer 2006, alongside a documentary about prominent Italian director Pupi Avati, who was filming a feature in the Quad Cities.

“The Bride Wore Blood” was entirely produced in the Quad-Cities with local talent, both onscreen and behind-the-scenes. The film includes an original score, which was composed by Scott Morschhauser, performed by the Metrolites, and produced by Mark Johnson and Brass Sail Recordings in Rock Island, IL.

The film has already received 10 award nominations from the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival. These nominations include Best Actress (Christy Sullivan), Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Iowa Film.

Beck & Woods are currently seniors at the University of Iowa. To date, they have produced 18 shorts and 4 feature length films.

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are two young filmmakers from Bettendorf, IA. The pair has been writing, directing, and producing films together since 1996, and formed their production company, Bluebox Limited, in 2001.
