Famous Pacific Shipping Strengthens Freight Services between Europe and Africa

A new direct oceanfreight forwarding service between Rotterdam and Durban is being developed by two key affiliates of the Asia Pacific-based NVOCC and freight forwarder, Famous Pacific Shipping.

(PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- A new direct oceanfreight forwarding service between Rotterdam and Durban is being developed by two key affiliates of the Asia Pacific-based NVOCC and freight forwarder, Famous Pacific Shipping.

This service, which has been developed by FPS Rotterdam and FPS South Africa, can handle FCL and LCL shipments as well as part loads, breakbulk cargo and heavy loads such as outsize or project cargoes. Shipments are consolidated at the two affiliates own facilities in The Netherlands and South Africa.

"With an initial weekly frequency, we are well-placed to meet the requirements of shippers moving their cargoes between Europe and Southern Africa through the hubs of Rotterdam and Durban," states Jacqui Downing, Managing Director of FPS South Africa.

"Offering a 22-day transit time from Rotterdam to Durban, the new service is very competitive and can be used as a very effective gateway operation for cargo originating or destined for countries in South and Central Africa, as well as the Indian Ocean Islands.
