New “Let Life In” Editor Denounces 50+ Labels A new online magazine and web community has been launched, "Let Life In" (www.LetLifeIn.com). Unlike most of what's out there, LetLifeIn.com recognizes the fact that people past the age of 50 are many things besides being 50+. Mission Viejo, CA (PRWEB) October 19, 2006 -- Announcing an exciting new 50+ online magazine & web community — Let Life In (www.LetLifeIn.com).
Its’ message is simple: “There is still more to life so explore what's out there, express how you feel and in the process, enrich your life.
Chief Editor Gary Geyer said, “Frankly, most of us are a little tired of the labels pinned on us – Seniors, Senior Citizens, Baby boomers, and even heaven help us, Aging boomers (aaagh!) The labels imply that we are all the same and our opinions and voices can be lumped together.”
“Which of course is ridiculous,” he added.
Geyer continued, “Actually, we are married, single, divorced, widowed, retired, working, unemployed, wealthy, middle class, physically fit, disabled, Republicans, Democrats, meat eaters, gym rats, vegetarians, gay, straight, parents, grandparents, introverts, go-getters, old fashioned, trendy, and every race and religion under the sun.
We just all happen to be over 50.”
He’s right. Studies show that most people over 50 are still interested in pursuing relationships both with their friends and families, as well as romantic relationships—which include love and sex. They want to travel, continue working as long as they can, interact, have fun, continue their educations, stay healthy, plan their retirements, care for their parents, enjoy their children and grandchildren, read, think ---you get the point.
LetLifeIn.com (www.LetLifeIn.com) is unique in the fact that it reflects all that. It is actually more than a 50+ magazine — it's a web community of people past the age of 50 who believe there is more to life and now more than ever, are ready to ‘Let life In.’
Geyer describes it as “a community where the 'inter'action is.”
The way LetLifeIn.com has been conceived, everyone who has a story can tell it and anyone who has an opinion can express it. Articles can be submitted for posting and reviews of those articles or in fact any article can be commented on by anyone and everyone who chooses to.
The content of the various sections delve deep:
-“Love & Relationships,” covers friends, family, romance and sex.
-“Retirement & Giving Back,” is rich in information on planning for retirement, enjoying a chosen lifestyle and giving back to others in the process.
-“Health & Well Being,” covers physical health, mental health, feeling good about oneself and getting more satisfaction out of life.
-“Travel & Leisure,” will take readers to exotic locations as well as touring the Americas, setting sail on romantic and fun cruises and experiencing adventures only dreamed about.
-“Kids & Grandkids,” is a section that’s goal is to have everyone appreciate and enjoy their grandchildren while strengthening their relationship with their grandchildren’s parents, their children.
-“Business & Education,” will help those who are considering re-entering the work force or starting a new career as well as expose them to new ideas and ways to continue developing their knowledge and skills.
-“People & Entertainment,” involves readers in the lives of the famous and the achievers who are 50+, and keeping up-to-date on what is going on in the entertainment world.
-“Fun Stuff” is well, full of fun stuff: daily cartoons, Brain Squeezers, nostalgia, rants, humorous observations, anecdotes and anything for a laugh.
-“Your Stories” presents readers with the opportunity of contributing their articles and the stories that are meaningful to them. If a story is chosen as the best of the month it will be showcased on the LetLifeIn.com homepage.
Background:
LetLifeIn.com (www.Letlifein.com) evolved from 50plus Online magazine (also known as 50plusMag.com).
So why change the name? Geyer says, “Well, first let me make one thing clear: It isn’t just a name change. It’s really an attitude and philosophy change and it is evident throughout the magazine and throughout the site. “Let Life In” is a mantra and a rallying cry. It’s what we believe!
We want to reach people who feel like we do — that there is a lot more to life and now more than ever, we want to take it all in.
We want LetLifeIn.com (www.LetLifeIn.com) to attract those people who are open to everything life has to offer. In other words, people who let life in.”
