ABOUT THE AUTHOR David Ahlgren was born the first time in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1959. After enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in the fall of 1980, he was born a second time into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ while going through Basic Training in San Antonio, Texas. He went on to Korean language schooling in Monterey, California, then on to San Angelo, Texas a year later, where he began writing poetry expressing his walk with Christ. Over the past 25 years he has continued writing the things in his heart that God opened his eyes to see as he moved to Mississippi, Florida, Minnesota, the Netherlands, and Germany. He retired from the Air Force in the fall of 2001, just a week and a half before 9/11. David currently lives in South Carolina with his wife Julia and son Timothy, where he works as an IT network security engineer. He enjoys photography, computers, and working on home improvement projects.
The author has been expressing his walk with God for the past 25 years in the form of poetry in his journals. This outpouring began just a year after coming to a saving relationship with Christ while spiritual growth was taking root. He began questioning the how and why of his salvation, and the answers came out in prose. Finally, this Psalm-like journey has been put into a collection expressing the joys of an intimate, humble, and genuine walk with Christ. These poems have been written at all hours of the day and night as God moved the soul to pen and paper. Experience the insights into God's grace and presence in the images brought to light in these words as you read this book. The author wishes you to have the eyes of your heart enlightened so that you may know the hope of His calling and the glorious riches that are yours in the inheritance He gives to you in Jesus Christ. May you have your soul moved closer to God as you contemplate the messages found here!
