Boulder, CO (PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- Relationship communication coaches Paul Sterling and Kristin Denton are excited to announce their upcoming seminar, "Relationships: The Myths, The Magic and the Mistakes," December 9, 2006 in Boulder, Colorado. You can register for the workshop by going to the websites listed at the end of this article.

Paul says of the seminar, "Give us three hours and we'll give you the relationship tools to turn around any relationship."

Learn these relationship-saving strategies:

• How to talk about painful and important issues you used to avoid without making things worse

• Avoid the verbal landmines -- the 'trigger words' -- that will almost always cause explosive reactions, arguments and hurt feelings.

• The magic of being understood and understanding without being defensive and attacking back

• Learn why people answer your questions with 'one word' answers and what to do about it

• How to get around the barrier that almost everyone has to listening effectively: taking things personally

• How to deal with your partner's past emotional baggage so it doesn't ruin your current relationship (this one alone has rescued even the most hopeless relationships!).

Enjoy your day in Boulder with other like-minded adults who want to make their relationships the best they can be. Learn these relationship-saving strategies through role plays, interactive games, discussions and challenges that will leave you feeling positive, hopeful and ready to take in hand the daily workings of your relationship.

Paul, after a career as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, spent twenty years studying and teaching communication skills in government, business and private practice. He developed his method of The Language of Peace after studying the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication (cnvc.org). Paul blended NVC with the Systems Theory of Dr. Deming, neuro-linguistic programming and Ericsonian neuro-associative conditioning to create an incredibly effective way to compassionately connect with oneself and others.

Kristin Denton has been an instructor of language, literature and communication for the last 17 years in factory, service industry, and public school settings. She is Paul's life partner and joins him in presenting his communication method. Together, Paul and Kristin teach their method in schools, businesses, prisons, universities, churches and, of course, to the public. Couples and families from around the world are using these powerful tools to transform the quality of their relationships.

"Communication is truly the final frontier. Star Trek told us that discovering planets at the far end of the universe is what's important. But I'd say it's making sure we're still talking to each other by the time we get there that's really important, " says Paul Sterling.

"Most fights happen because people are making one or more of The 5 Most Common Relationship-Wrecking Communication Mistakes," he adds. "These hidden verbal landmines cause arguments, upsets, misunderstanding and eventually divorces."

"Most people have heard the saying, 'It's not what you say, it's how you say it.' In the workshop we teach 'how to say it.' Participants learn how to talk about important, stressful, emotional issues without making things worse."

The December 9 class will also cover what not to say (the five mistakes) and why. These 5 Mistakes are: 1) Case Building, 2) Story Telling, 3) Message Assuming, 4) Cup Stuffing, and 5) The Fatal F's. Learn how to identify these mistakes so you can avoid them and the pain they create. To read the full report on the 5 Mistakes, visit The Language of Peace website at MagicRelationship.com. Sign up for the report and it will be emailed it to your inbox.

"I think I will be better equipped to take time to listen to others' feelings as well as being able to relate to my feelings without always being defensive, and hearing the negative. When they are probably just showing me an act of love or asking me for help."

Melissa Snow, Golden, Colorado

"…I believe that my communication will never be the same because of a gift I received from him (Paul) and his partner Kristin in the Language of Peace seminar that I took."

Greg Cortopassi, Denver, CO

"I recognize how I am constantly building cases against people. Just that alone has radically impacted my relationships."

Daniela Hess Scholl, Ithaca, New York
