Jeb Banner and Joe Downey founded Small Box Consulting and Design in January 2006 when Banner left the local auction house Antique Helper which he co-founded. Twodue.com was developed as a company side project by partner and CTO Joe Downey to compete with the popular online to-do site Tadalist.com. Like Ta-Da, TwoDue.com is password protected and completely free to use. Small Box CEO Jeb Banner said, "We liked some things about Ta-Da but felt the functionality was only half way there so we basically built a site that met all our project management needs."

Small Box is looking to position itself as a company that can create business tools for other companies. Looking into the future Small Box has started partnering with other businesses and organizations.
