Real Digital Media Announces Availability of Satellite Solution for Digital Signage Networks

New development represents the first fully integrated satellite-ready solution for the digital signage market.

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) November 8, 2006 -- Real Digital Media (RDM), a leading provider of next generation digital signage products for establishing point-of-purchase marketing, promotions and corporate communication networks, today announced the availability of a fully integrated satellite solution for their NEOCAST® digital signage platform. In partnership with Microspace® Communications Corporation (Microspace), the leading provider of point-to-multipoint satellite services, and KenCast, developers of software for the IP multicasting of digital content, the new offering enables digital signage network operators to benefit from satellite delivery without the requirement to purchase, deploy or manage additional satellite network infrastructure on-site.

Along with leveraging Microspace's high-speed video, data, and audio VELOCITY® broadcasting service, Real Digital Media has embedded the KenCast Fazzt® client within the architecture of their NEOCAST® Media Players. All NEOCAST® Media Players are now satellite compatible out of the box.

In addition, Real Digital Media has enhanced their market leading NEOCAST® Media Server software to seamlessly integrate with the Fazzt® Enterprise Server, which manages the delivery of satellite content at Microspace's Network Control Center. Users of the NEOCAST® digital signage platform maintain control over their network and campaign management demands through the NEOCAST® Media Server, which transparently instructs the Fazzt® Enterprise Server when to schedule the delivery of digital content.

"Once again, Real Digital Media leads the market in making it easier for customers to deploy and manage digital signage networks," said Michael Baron, President of Real Digital Media. "If network operators have mixed satellite and terrestrial environments, or simply want the flexibility to choose, now there is a single platform that offers both satellite and broadband connectivity out of the box. Zero integration efforts and no additional hardware requirements. Just the option to choose what works best for their environment."

Greg Weaver, Microspace's Manager of Digital Signage Networks adds, "We are very pleased to be partnering with Real Digital Media and KenCast to offer satellite connectivity to businesses of all sizes that require reliable content delivery for their digital signage networks. The cooperation between our three companies further validates the demand for satellite delivery, and we fully expect the reliability and economics of this joint solution to be eagerly received in the marketplace."

Microspace® manages the Fazzt® Enterprise Server in their Network Control Center, which enables seamless integration with Microspace's economical, high-speed video, data and audio broadcasting service.

"KenCast has had a long standing relationship with Microspace, and together we have provided an effective and efficient multicast service," said Bill Steele, CEO of KenCast. "With the inclusion of Real Digital Media, and their efforts to integrate their NEOCAST® products with Fazzt®, we now have a complete end-to-end satellite solution for the digital signage space."

Tim Street, Satellite Analyst for The Information & Communications Technology Group at Frost & Sullivan, adds, "Satellite providers are in constant battle with terrestrial competitors across many different verticals. The emergence of digital signage offers new opportunities for satellite providers to compete and expand their customer base, and represents an application that plays to satellite's strongest value propositions: efficiency, versatility, scalability, and security. RDM's fully integrated satellite and terrestrial solution only adds to those qualities and offers customers a higher level of flexibility when designing their network."

Real Digital Media customers have the option to manage their digital signage networks and content themselves through the NEOCAST® Media Server or subscribe to a managed service offered by Real Digital Media.
