Park West Gallery Collection of Photo-Realist and Official Harley-Davidson Artist Scott Jacobs

Scott Jacobs began his career in art not with his painting, but by buying a failing gallery at nineteen with money he saved from working odd jobs. At twenty-one, Scott opened Reflections On Canvas Gallery in Westfield, N.J., a gallery that met with much success. Paintings of motorcycles later lead to a partnership with Harley-Davidson. Visitors of Park West Gallery can see this amazing work.

(PRWEB) November 7, 2006 -- Park West Gallery Artist Biography (http://bio.parkwestgallery.com) series invites you to experience the amazing work of Scott Jacobs. After receiving a set of paints from his wife for Christmas, Scott turned back to creating and now has a body of work to attest to the wisdom of that decision. Scott began by painting people. He has captured the likeness of celebrities in commissioned portraits such as business tycoon Malcom Forbes and supermodels Kim Alexis and Kathy Ireland. At the suggestion of a friend, Scott merged his love of motorcycles with his artistic talent and became the first officially licensed Harley-Davidson artist, painting the images that continue to amaze Harley-Davidson enthusiasts worldwide.

Scott Jacobs' most recent work shows off a vastly different side of the artist. Still-life bottles, glasses and spirits along with poolside martinis and pool tables graced with Jacobs' consuming techniques that create a finely detailed composition. The paintings welcome viewers into a world of almost photographic reality and succinct reflections that Scott is signature in his Harley-Davidson artwork.

Scott has become world renown for his motorcycle paintings. He started painting motorcycles at the suggestion of his friend and coworker Ron Copple. Nobody was painting Harley-Davidsons at the time, and Scott was so successful at it, Harley-Davidson gave him the first license to paint these prestigious bikes.

A couple of years ago, Scott's wife Sharon was redoing their dining room and asked Scott to paint a still-life for the focal point of the room. Scott obliged with "Taking A Breather," an elegant piece showing a beautiful wine offset by two half filled wine glasses, astounding in its realism. Scott showed this painting to the Michael Wolfe Gallery in San Diego, where he had been selling his motorcycle motifs. The Wolfe Gallery immediately asked if they could try to sell the new Jacobs' style artwork. Reluctantly, Jacobs said yes and in just three days, the painting sold for $15,000. Scott had to tell his wife he would do another one for the dining room. And so began his second career as a still life painter.

Today, Jacobs paints in both styles, and shows his work in some of the most prestigious automotive auctions and events around the country; including the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, where the most expensive cars and motorcycles in the world attract celebrities like Jay Leno. He is also the main artist for the Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Scott's motorcycle work has been featured in VQ Magazine, American Iron, Art Business News, Easy Rider Magazine, Airbrush Action Magazine and more. Jacobs is one of today's most sought after artists selling throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. His work is collected by celebrities such as Peter Fonda, Lorenzo Lamas, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, John Elway, and Karl Malone of the Lakers.
