Camrivox Is First To Add Google Talk™ Support To Stand-Alone VoIP Phones And Telephony Adapters Adapters allow people to use Google Talk™ away from their computers. Berlin (PRWEB) November 7, 2006 -- Camrivox (www.camrivox.com), a developer of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) equipment, has announced that it has added support for Google Talk™ to its range of Flexor™ IP phones and telephony adapters.
The Flexor products allow users to register a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) account and a Google Talk™ account simultaneously on the same VoIP device. This means that they can make or receive calls either via Google Talk™ or with any other SIP-compatible VoIP phone or conventional phone.
“We believe that Camrivox is the first company to add this capability, and our Flexor range is therefore the first devices that enables Google Talk™ to be used without a PC,” said David Moorhouse, VP of Marketing at Camrivox.
“Google TalkTM is standards-based and has released information to third parties on how they can interface their products with it,“ continued Moorhouse. “This gives it an important differentiator compared with the closed world of Skype™.“
The Google Talk™ capability is supported by Camrivox’s complete range of VoIP products. This includes the Flexor 500 IP phone, and the Flexor 201 and Flexor 151 VoIP telephony adapters. The product range provides advanced Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), excellent voice quality due to Camrivox’s QoS technology, automatic set-up for users, and zero touch scalable provisioning which allows operators to deploy without ever “touching” the device; this further reduces roll-out costs.
Google Talk™ is a trademark of Google, Inc. Skype™ is a trademark of Skype Limited.
