International Online Christmas Essay Contest for Students, Including Homeschoolers, to Gain Chance to Win Nintendo Wii

Learning By Grace, Inc. and its online Christian PreK-12 homeschooling academies are currently running a Christmas essay contest fot students aged 10-17, including homeschooled children, to win Nintendo Wii.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) November 8, 2006 -- Learning By Grace, Inc. announced today that it and three of its online, Christian, PreK-12, homeschooling academies - The MorningStar Academy, The Jubilee Academy, and The Grace Academy - are holding the Learning By Grace Christmas Essay Contest. To help celebrate the season, the topic for the essay contest is "How is your family putting Christ into Christmas this year?" The award: A brand new Nintendo Wii.

"We're extremely excited to run an essay contest which includes homeschoolers! Too often homeschoolers are overlooked by mainstream culture, and we would like to do our part to change that. It's our goal to ensure that Christian children everywhere, regardless of their method of schooling, know that they can all work together to make our world a better place," stated Mimi Rothschild, CEO of Learning By Grace, Inc. "We know that Christian students - homeschooled, public schooled, and private schooled alike will submit superb essays explaining just how important it is to focus on Christ during the Christmas season!"

In February of this year, Oprah Winfrey banned homeschoolers from participating in an essay contest based on a popular novel. Saddened by her exclusion of homeschoolers, Learning By Grace, Inc. wanted to give homeschoolers an opportunity to show the world that homeschoolers can have the same opportunities as other students.

The Learning By Grace Christmas Essay Contest is open to all children age 10-17 who submit on or before December 31, 2006. The top 15 finalists will see their essays posted on the academy websites. The first place essay writers in both the middle school and high school brackets will each receive a Nintendo Wii, one of this Christmas's hottest gifts.

"We wanted to award a fun prize that would enable families to spend time together this season," says Rothschild. "Playing a family game of Wii Sports on these cold, blustery winter nights should bring families closer together."
