STUART NEWMAN ASSOCIATES PUBLIC RELATIONS TO REPRESENT STOCKHOLM VISITORS BOARD

Miami-based Stuart Newman Associates public relations marketing firm has been retained by the Stockholm Visitors Board to provide North American representation. The agency is charged with enhancing awareness of Stockholm as a vacation destination and cruise port of call among U.S. travel agents, consumers and cruise lines.

MIAMI (Oct. 3, 2002) - The Stockholm Visitors Board AB has named Miami-based public relations marketing firm Stuart Newman Associates its North American agency of record. The SVB is the official convention and visitors bureau of Stockholm, Sweden.

Stuart Newman Associates has contracted to provide public relations marketing and media relations support for the SVB's efforts to enhance awareness of Stockholm among U.S. travel agents, consumers and cruise lines. The agency will serve as a clearinghouse for information about Stockholm as well as a news bureau for the Stockholm Visitors Board.

The agency's specific mission is to broaden awareness of Stockholm as an attractive cruise port of call and turnaround destination. As Baltic cruises have gained popularity in recent years, the city's importance as a port of call and embarkation/debarkation point has grown. In 2002, Stockholm hosted 175 cruise ships carrying more than 130,000 passengers. In 2003, the city is expecting 200 cruise ships carrying more than 200,000 passengers.

Stockholm, which celebrates its 750th birthday this year, offers a wide variety of attractions - museums, restaurants, shopping, arts and cultural activities - and combines medieval cobblestone streets, magnificent churches and narrow alleyways with modern high rises, theaters and bustling markets.

Established and headquartered in South Florida since 1946, Stuart Newman Associates has extensive experience in the promotion and marketing of hotels, destinations and attractions, as well as air and sea carriers, and related maritime and travel industry clients in Florida and the hemisphere.

Current clients include the Florida Keys & Key West Tourist Development Council, Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, Image Shipboard Photography and Source International.
