Leo Laporte and Amber MacArthur Premiere TWiT-TV's First Live Interactive Podcast on TalkShoe

Leo Laporte and Amber MacArthur from TWiT-TV have started their first live interactive podcast net@nite (www.natn.tv). This is replacing their 'Inside the Net' podcast. The first episode, on November 5, 2006, included over 500 live participants, who interacted via telephone, Skype, VoIP, chat, and streaming. The show also included Steve Chen of YouTube. The show will be hosted on www.talkshoe.com every Sunday night at 9:00 pm.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 9, 2006 -- TalkShoe (www.talkshoe.com) will now be hosting a new live interactive podcast by Leo Laporte and Amber MacArthur from TWiT-TV called net@nite (www.natn.tv). The first episode was on November 5, 2006. Leo has been quoted as calling this interactive format "Podcasting 2.0." Over 500 people joined the first live show, by far the largest live interactive podcast ever. The first show also included Steven Chen, YouTube's founder who was telephoned, and brought into the live podcast by Amber. People participated via telephone, text-chat, Skype, VoIP, and streaming audio to their computer. TalkShoe provided the technology for this event, and a recorded podcast is available its website.

"Amber and I are proud to announce the first live TWiTcast. We're reinventing Inside the Net, and renaming it net@nite. You'll still be able to listen to the show as a podcast every Tuesday, but you can also listen live as we record it Sunday nights (9:00 P.M. ET on TalkShoe). Even better, you can participate," said Leo Laporte on the net@nite blog.

"Leo and Amber are once again pioneers by using interactive podcasting," commented Dave Nelsen, TalkShoe's CEO and founder. "Leo Laporte's use of our system is a testament to TalkShoe's new and groundbreaking technology."

"I have just two words to describe this new era of netcasting. Fun and entertaining," commented a live show listener.

Using TalkShoe's technology, anyone can host live interactive podcasts -- which TalkShoe calls Talkcasts. The live podcasts provide a rich environment where people can listen-in (stream), text chat, or participate via voice on the telephone or with VoIP. The host is in control with features such as see-who's-talking, muting, censoring chat, and queue call management. The unique technology uses a mixture of telephony, conference bridging, Internet streaming, and text-chatting.
