New Authentication Directory Provides Comprehensive Guide to Authentication Suppliers Reconnaissance has launched the Authentication Connections Directory containing listings of specialised authentication and anti-counterfeiting technology suppliers and anti-counterfeiting and IP industry associations. London, UK (PRWEB) November 13, 2006 -- The Authentication Connections Directory is the first guidebook of its kind for specifiers, users and converters of secure documents and branded products and is now produced by Reconnaissance International (publishers of the monthly industry newsletter Authentication News). The Directory contains comprehensive listings of over 400 specialised suppliers of authentication and anti-counterfeiting technologies, as well as some 70 anti-counterfeiting and intellectual property industry associations.
Given the complex array of authentication and anti-counterfeiting technologies now available, keeping up with latest developments and who does what is an increasingly difficult and time-consuming task. The Authentication Connections Directory has been designed to take the time and guesswork out of this task by listing the anti-counterfeiting and authentication technologies and the anti-counterfeiting and authentication suppliers in a simple, one-stop guide that provides both coverage of the available technologies and a simple means of referencing their suppliers.
It is aimed both at users (manufacturers and distributors of branded goods, specifiers and issuers of secured and financial documents, packaging converters and integrators) to help them source appropriate authentication and anti-counterfeiting technologies and suppliers, and also at suppliers themselves, particularly those looking to partner with other technology providers to offer combination or multi-layered security solutions.
The Authentication Directory is in three parts. The first provides a description of the key families of authentication technologies and lists the producers of each. These authentication technologies are divided into seven categories - (1) substrates and components (including paper and polymer, films, laminates and tamper-evident substrates, threads, tapes, fibres and planchettes);(2) inks, coatings and varnishes; (3) printed security features; (4) optically variable devices (including diffractive OVDs); (5) taggants, coding and track and trace technologies; (6) integrators (security print, packaging and labels) and (7) support services (consultants, project management and internet monitoring services).
The second, and major, part of the Authentication Directory is the alphabetical listing of all authentication suppliers, which gives full contact details for each authentication company. And third is the list of authentication-related associations and organisations.
Reconnaissance (http://www.reconnaissance-intl.com/) has also published the Directory of Currency Suppliers (on which the Authentication Connections Directory is modelled), the third edition of which is due for publication in late 2007, and is now working on a similar directory specifically for the holography industry as part of the 4th edition of the Holo-pack.Holo-print Industry Study and Market Report. This is due for publication early in 2007.
The Authentication Connections Directory is currently being distributed free of charge to a wide audience of brand owners, secure document specifiers, anti-counterfeiting organisations and technology suppliers. Additional copies are available at £25 and can be purchased on-line via www.authenticationnews.info.
