NewspaperARCHIVE.com to Offer More Interactive Features

Additional online features increase value of NewspaperARCHIVE.com subscription

Cedar Rapids, Iowa (PRWEB) November 13, 2006 -- Beginning Wednesday, November 15, NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest newspaper database available online, will offer a more interactive website to the online research community. New features such as user forums, a "My Archive" tool that enables subscribers to share interesting newspapers with friends and family, as well as a homepage with headlines from this day in history, will be revealed.

The archive will feature more free tools than ever before, including access to more than 20 special collection archives, search alerts, and The Daily Perspective, a today-in-history publication. Additional free features include the ability to participate in user forums and view "My Archive" pages. Paid subscribers, who have access to more than 50 million historic newspaper pages, will discover a more innovative interface that makes it easier to find and view full-page newspapers.

"We are excited to provide our subscribers with tools and content that add additional value to their membership," said Jeff Kiley, General Manager of NewspaperARCHIVE.com. "Yet, we want everyone to experience the benefits of exploring history through our unique primary sources, which is why we are encouraging non-subscribers to view and make use of selected free content and features."

Content from more than 2,200 newspaper titles throughout the US and abroad can be found on NewspaperARCHIVE.com. Using Optical Character Recognition technology, researchers can search through the collection by keyword, date and location. The search function makes it easy to find past newspaper articles about family members, significant events, and even sports statistics from previous decades.
