(PRWEB) November 15, 2006 -- The bankruptcy of Farepak a Christmas saving company in the UK has led to requests from members of a free swap site to establish a facility to donate new goods locally to those who lost money to the scheme.

Colin Paterson a spokesman for the swap company in question www. commented: "Having come from a family whose mother used to do all of our Christmas saving through this type of scheme I can imagine what these people are going through right now, the thought of Christmas without presents for the kids must be heartbreaking."

Paterson also added, "My members are keen to list unused items on my site, for those impacted by the situation. It also enables people to help who can't necessarily afford to make a financial contribution to those caught up in the scheme. Everyone has items lying around still in there packaging that would be of use. "

The collapse of Farepak has left many families wondering how they are going to cope over the Christmas period with many members losing thousands of pounds.
