Acoustic Rock Band Simple People Nominated as 'Best New Group' by New Music Weekly

Acoustic rockers Simple People nominated as "Best New Group" by New Music Weekly. Winners will be announced at the 2006 New Music Awards in Hollywood, CA.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 14, 2006 -- Acoustic rock band Simple People has been nominated as "Best New Group" in the AC/Hot AC category for the 2006 New Music Awards. The ceremony will be held on November 18th, 2006, at the famed Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California.

The recognition is driven by the success of the band's first radio single, "Goodbye," which was released earlier this year. Speaking about Simple People, veteran radio promoter Paul Loggins (Loggins Promotion) comments, "The whole package is here with Simple People. Good, energetic performances encompassing nice melodies and harmonies with a side order of instrument sounds that are just different enough to keep out the generic flavor. 'Goodbye' has top potential at radio. Hands down one of the best groups of 2006!"

Simple People vocalist/guitarist Tom Hurtado comments, "It's really an honor to be recognized along side so many great artists who have also been nominated for these awards. New Music Weekly provides a great avenue for new, independent artists like us to gain credibility and exposure."

The New Music Awards bring together new and established artists with radio programmers, music directors and industry executives to recognize the best new music of the year. Winners will be decided by popular vote.
