The latest swimsuits continued the Ashley Paige tradition of fusing splashy colors with a freewheeling hippie vibe of hand-made knit fabric that has caught on with the Young Hollywood starlets such as Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Liv Tyler and the Hilton Sisters.

Ashley Paige's show was clearly the highlight of L.A. FashionWeek at SmashBox Studios, and was an overwhelming hit with the sell out crowd, except for a minor note of controversy surrounding her models.

The use of such young models in a bikini fashion show brought criticism, prompting Ashley Paige to express disappointment at her critics who incorrectly linked the Baby Paige swimsuits on the young girls to Ashley's completely separate adult swimwear line.

"The mommy and me collection was inspired by on going requests from my costumers for matching bathing suits for their daughters. In fact, one of the girls in the show was actually the daughter of a loyal customer and friend. The Baby Paige collection is one of the best selling items in my boutique, which I attribute to how many people find the idea of matching mother daughter swimsuits adorable," stated Paige. "It saddens me to think that people could in any way believe I am trying to exploit children. I was not seeking controversy -- what I was seeking was simply for the girls to look cute and have fun, as kids do on the beach every day in Southern California and most of the rest of the world," Paige continued.
