Mandarin Oriental in D.C. Ranked Worlds Best Hotel by Institutional Investor magazine

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington D.C. has been named the overall top-ranked hotel in this year's poll of CEOs and senior executives from the United States, Asia and Europe. Institutional Investor's 26th annual hotel ranking, "The Top 100 Hotels of the World," will be published in the November 2006 issue.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington D.C. has been named the overall top-ranked hotel in Institutional Investor's 2006 survey of the world's best hotels. Known for its exceptional service and luxurious accommodations, including a nine-room presidential suite and 10,000-square-foot spa, the Washington hotel scored highest in this year's poll of CEOs and senior executives from the United States, Asia and Europe. Institutional Investor's 26th annual hotel ranking, "The Top 100 Hotels of the World," will be published in the November 2006 issue.

The Oriental Bangkok, a Mandarin Oriental hotel, takes second place overall. The hotel's views of the Chao Praya River, its famous Author's Lounge and world-class restaurants have helped make The Oriental a perennial favorite of VIPs. In third place is the legendary Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, known for its lush gardens, followed by Halekulani, a luxury beachfront resort in Honolulu. The Four Seasons San Francisco, located in the heart of the city and known for its excellent service, came in fifth place on the survey.

The ranking also includes a breakdown of Top Hotels by Region. Four Seasons George V, a 245-room grand hotel featuring balconies overlooking the Champs-Elysées, was voted the number one hotel in Europe. The Mandarin Oriental Washington, D.C., number 1 overall, and Oriental, number 2 overall, top the Americas and Asia lists respectively.
