Kidde Fire Systems Launches New Remote Releasing Module for ARIES™ Intelligent Control Unit

The new module expands capabilities of the ARIES Control Unit, widely used in the Power Generation Industry.

Ashland, MA (PRWeb) November 22, 2006 -- Kidde Fire Systems, a worldwide leader in the development of fire detection and suppression systems, has launched the SmartOne® Remote Releasing Module (RRM) for use with its ARIES Intelligent System Control Unit. The ARIES is a compact, full-featured control unit that manages fire response from detection to alarm and suppression system release. Its signaling line circuit supports up to 255 addressable devices.

The new RRM field device remotely activates a variety of extinguishing systems via the signaling line circuit on the ARIES. "The RRM is ideal for expanding system capabilities of the ARIES unit," said Diana Jones, Product Manager of Intelligent Systems, Kidde Fire Systems. "When compared with competitive products, the new RRM also has a lower cost per release zone, so it provides both added protection and value."

The RRM provides internal supervision of communication with the ARIES Control Unit, connections to an external power supply and maintains comprehensive system memory. The system is widely used in power generation plants, medical facilities, control rooms, and other facilities that require monitoring of sensitive spaces. In power generation stations multiple RRMs, in conjunction with the ARIES, can protect cable trays/vaults, conveyor belts/tunnels, transformers, generators, fuel handling, and other valuable assets that require protection.

RMM Features

· The ARIES signaling line supports up to 64 RRMs

· Up to 16 RRMs can be configured for simultaneous group activation, with a maximum of four groups

· Supports FM-200®, FE-13™, CO2, Argonite™ as well as foam, foam-water, deluge and pre-action sprinkler systems
