Gaithersburg, MD // October 14, 2002 VoiceLog LLC has been named by Inc magazine as one of the US’s fastest growing entrepreneurial companies. The listing appears in Inc magazine’s 2002 “Inc 500” ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

VoiceLog sales grew by 2,108 percent from 1997 – 2001 to over $7.4 million last year, making it the 77th fastest-growing company on the Inc list. In addition to being in the top 20% of the “Inc 500”, the company was also one of only six companies in the top 100 to score an “A” profit range in both of the last two years.

Founded in 1996, VoiceLog has grown from nothing to become the nation’s leading provider of Third Party Verification services to the telecommunications, competitive utility, and financial services industries. Companies use VoiceLog services to prevent sales fraud, document transactions and to meet requirements of the Federal Communications Commission and state public utility commissions.

“We’re very excited about making the ‘Inc 500 list’ and especially being in the top 100,” said Cindy Hamilton, Vice President. “It’s a wonderful sign of recognition of what can be accomplished by people working together with focus and a passion for customer service.”

“Beyond ourselves, we owe our success to our clients, our employees and our suppliers,” said Larry Leikin, Vice President of Sales. “While it’s great to receive this type of award, our real thrill is in wowing our clients with service and providing our people with a great place to work.”

VoiceLog was started in 1996 by Jim Veilleux, Larry Leikin and Cindy Hamilton, all veterans of the telecommunications industry. The company’s strategy is based on focus, both on its customers and on its services. It pursues no more than one new product line at a time, emphasizing innovation, strong investment and continuous improvement in technology, and tight cost control for all non-essential expenses. Despite its size, the company has an international presence, with contractors as far away as Nepal, and customers throughout Canada and Europe.

For twenty years, the “Inc 500” has ranked the nation’s leading entrepreneurial firms according to sales growth over the previous five years. Former Inc 500 companies that have gone on to become household names include Microsoft, Timberland, Domino’s Pizza and Patagonia.

The 2002 Inc 500 shows the resiliency of the entrepreneurial sector.

“This is the first ‘Inc 500’ ranking to reflect the full impact of the recession,” said Inc editor John Koten. “Yet these entrepreneurs are managing to confound the naysayers and move ahead despite obstacles. They’re showing that smart strategies can success even in the toughest of times.”

“We aren’t done yet,” said Jim Veilleux, President of VoiceLog. “2002 sales and profits will be even higher than last year, and we’re building the kind of solid technology platform that will allow us to delight customers for years to come.”
