Serpent at Rattler Lake Will Take Readers Back to a Fictional World Similar to the World Louis L'Amour Could Create

Serpent at Rattler Lake is spine-tingling Louis L'Amour pastiche that will have readers at the edge of their seats. When a large serpent is reported to be carrying off calves there is more going on than simple rustling. Of course, as in every Louis L'Amour story there is a beautiful woman, a handsome rugged hero, and plenty of exciting action.

Missoula, Montana (PRWeb) November 27, 2006 -- In Serpent at Rattler Lake the ghost of the late Louis L'Amour seems to come back to pleasure fans. The story, originally purchased by Louis L'Amour magazine never appeared as that magazine, started by the L'Amour family, ceased operations before the story was published.

Now the story has been published as an ebook on Amazon.com as one of Amazon shorts westerns. Amazon shorts are downloadable for only 49 cents each.

What's the story about. Well, somethings killing Cattle at Rattler Lake. "Rattler Lake, Montana has been visited by a serpent. Eli Fowler, a local rancher, was out rounding up strays when he heard the calls of a calf down by the lake shore. When he commenced from trees, a serpent, some 40 feet long, had the young calf betwixt its teeth, while sashaying out into the lake… ." And there's more than just rustlers according to author Dave Curran.

Curran, got his start selling westerns in Louis L'Amour Magazine. Curran's usual stock in trade are stories involving a pair of western con artists, Katt and Dance, but for a change of pace he wanted to imitate that late author whom he considers to be the best western writer of all time.
