Omaha, NE (PRWEB) November 29, 2010

The website for Creighton University’s online degree programs has a new look. The redesigned site at http://www.creighton-online.com features enhanced navigation and enriched content for the online Master’s in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution program.

The Master’s in Negotiation and Dispute Resolutiononline degree program approaches conflict management and resolution with the belief that conflict, when handled correctly, can result in new ideas, innovation, and growth opportunities. Students learn to zero in on areas of shared interest, and improve communication to reveal potential for collaboration and creative solutions. The resulting negotiation skills and knowledge can be applied to a wide variety of fields and industries throughout students’ careers.

Housed within Creighton University’s School of Law, the Master’s in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution program is grounded in legal problem solving, policy, and principles related to conflict management and mediation. The program also incorporates elements of the social sciences to help students prepare for the interpersonal dynamics of conflict and negotiation. Creighton’s Jesuit values of ethics and service for others are incorporated throughout the curriculum.

The program offers four concentrations that reflect employment trends and the growing use of conflict resolution processes such as negotiation, facilitation, arbitration, and mediation is growing in a number of industries and areas of business.

  •     The Organizational/Transactional Negotiation concentration is targeted toward resolving disputes that arise in businesses, government, large institutions, and community organizations.
  •     The International Negotiations and Conflict Resolution concentration focuses on intercultural communication and disputes crossing national boundaries, making it suitable for professionals in global corporations, international organizations, and the military.
  •     The Health Care Collaboration and Dispute Resolution concentration covers conflicts related to the increasingly complex health care industry, with implications for patient safety, coverage issues, professional relationships, and health care administration.
  •     The Collaborative Practice and Conflict Resolution in Education concentration explores conflict within the context of schools, such as conflict between students and institutions and organizational conflict between staff and faculty.
