Bear, DE (PRWeb) December 8, 2006 -- A Prophecy, A Promise, and A Child - True Tales of Christmas, a new audio CD recording of stories about the Nativity of Christ told by professional storyteller, the Reverend Michael Forestieri, is scheduled to be aired on Philadelphia radio station WNJC 1360 AM on December 14th and 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.. "A friend of mine heard about my new CD and asked about airing on the station," Forestieri says. "Of course, I said, 'yes.'"

The ten stories and three Christmas carols on the hour-long CD promises a seeker friendly journey through the whole Nativity story.

"Millions of nativity scenes will be set up this year as Christmas decorations without a full understanding who the figurines represent or why they are all standing around in a stable," Forestieri says, "This telling invites people to learn about the big picture and the part each character played. The events of the Nativity happened to real people like you and me. What were their thoughts, hopes, and dreams?

Nationally acclaimed teller Lilly Marge Hill coached Forestieri through this project.

"Michael gets into the skin of other people to tell from their viewpoint," she says. "Not many people can, but good storytellers do that. This telling will encourage you to get yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and listen to how Mary deals with riding a donkey when she's nine months pregnant."

This project is a result of combining storytelling techniques and biblical research, Forestieri says, but it is not intended to be a scholarly work. "The telling is rich with description, but the listener never gets bogged down with details."

Forestieri has been awarded grants and residencies from the Delaware Division of the Arts and is listed on their Approved Artist Roster. He is on the board of directors for the national Christian Storytelling Network and is president of the Delaware chapter. His storytelling concerts and workshops have been presented at schools, libraries, and museums up and down the east coast and overseas. Students learn to enjoy writing through his creative writing residencies, which employ the story building process. He also offers storytelling sermons and training to churches.
