(PRWeb) December 13, 2006 -- Sillysoft Games (www.sillysoft.net) has released their new strategy game Ancient Empires Lux. It's available now to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The game lets players take control of the greatest early civilizations of mankind, including Egypt, Greece and Rome.
Ancient Empires Lux is a strategy game, but also fits into the "casual games" segment of PC games. It's distributed exclusively online, with a small download size, no load times, and a $20 price.
Ancient Empires is the third Lux game developed by Sillysoft, all using a Risk inspired turn-based strategy gameplay. This new game promises bigger maps, more statistics, and the ability to play as any of the nations vying for control of each empire. There's a total of 58 different starting positions to try to win from, some more difficult than others.
Each empire comes as a map containing the real geographic layout marking the important cities and regions of the time. Background information on each empire is included, along with links to full histories. Gamers beware: if you're not careful, playing this game might actually teach you some ancient history.
Ancient Empires Lux information, screenshots and downloads are available online from Sillysoft:
About Sillysoft Games: Sillysoft Games is an independent Canadian game developer dedicated to producing addictive strategy games. Their first game, Lux Delux, was a finalist at the Independent Games Festival in 2005 and has become a cult hit online.
