Two New Alternative Energy Stocks Added to Ardour Global Index in Semi-Annual Reconstitution

Seven New Stocks in AGI Extra Liquid

New York (PRWeb) December 14, 2006 -- The Ardour Global (TICKER: AGIGL) Index will add 2 new components, effective 6:00 PM (EST) Sunday, December 17. Ten stocks will be deleted from the index. The changes result from the index’s semi-annual reconstitution. A complete list of constituents and weights will be posted on the Ardour web site, (www.ardourglobalindexes.com/indexes_agi.php).

The Ardour Global Index is a capitalization-weighted, float adjusted index of 81 of the most prominent alternative energy stocks in the world.

The significant new component, the $4.6 billion market capitalization Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd., is based in China, although its shares trade in ADR form on the New York Stock Exchange. The second addition is Renova Energy PLC, a UK company. Many of the recent additions to the Ardour Global Index are foreign companies and more foreign stocks are expected to be added to the index in the future.

Ten stocks were deleted from the index for failing to pass either capitalization or liquidity screens. Nearly 200 “pure play” alternative energy stocks from around the world were screened against multiple criteria for inclusion in the index. To be included in the index stocks must pass multiple screens, including for capitalization, float, exchange listing, share price and turnover.

The AGI Extra Liquid Index (TICKER: AGIXL), which contains a fixed number of 30 stocks, had seven additions against seven deletions. The high turnover was largely the result of a rule change that set higher standards for market capitalization. As a result of the reconstitution the market capitalization of the AGIXL will rise to $80.5 billion. Important additions to the AGIXL were the $8.8 billion market capitalization Norwegian stock, Renewable Energy Corp., and the $4.6 billion market capitalization Chinese company, Suntech Power Holdings, Co., Ltd.
