Anyone with an interest in searching for, collecting or just watching videos online is invited to play along at Dabble.com. Participants collect videos into playlists based on a daily theme and submit their entries to be reviewed by the Dabble community. Every day the creator of the playlist who gets the most "favorite" votes by noon the following day gets a Dabble T-Shirt and guarantees themselves a spot in the Final competition.
Anyone can participate in the Dabble Challenge.
Simply go to the Dabble.com blog (available at http://dabble.com/blog/) every day at Noon in December to read the daily playlist challenge theme. Next, surf the Web or search other Dabblers' video collections and arrange videos into a playlist that matches the daily playlist challenge theme. To find out how to make a playlist, check out Dabble's playlist tutorial available here: http://dabble.com/tutorial#howplaylists. Last, tag your entries with the "Dabble Challenge 2006" tag along with the tag for that day's challenge, as explained in the day's blog post.
On the last day of the month, each daily winner, plus the makers of the ten most "favorited" playlists during the first 30 days (even if they all happen the same day), will compete in the 24 hours of the Dabble Challenge Finals, taking place from December 31 until Noon, January 1st 2007 (PST). The winner will walk away with the title of "Dabble Challenge Champion 2006" and $500. The runner-up will receive a new video iPod. Users do not have to submit playlists in order to vote in the Dabble Challenge.
"Dabble users are passionate about searching for and collecting unique videos from around the Web. That's why we started the Dabble Challenge," said Mary Hodder, Dabble.com founder and CEO. "This is a chance for people to show off their interests to the rest of the world. Every day we pick a very different theme for the Challenge. The response has been overwhelming and we challenge the community with themes like 'sports moments,' 'music videos,' 'videos from childhood,' 'vintage commercials,' 'Sci-fi videos' and even 'movie remixes.' There are playlists for literally every interest on Dabble. Dabble has collected more than five million videos so far and the Dabble Challenge has really picked up the pace. Everyone here is looking forward to the Finals on December 31 when Dabble users will pick the month's grand prize winners!"
