Warning Labels On Politicians™ Campaign Launched

Because he believes nothing is more dangerous than a politician, Robert "Bob" McCarty launched the WARNING LABELS ON POLITICIANS™ campaign, an effort that targets candidates seeking the White House in 2008, regardless of political party -- Democrat, Republican or Independent: "Warning labels already appear on drugs, cigarettes, pesticides and other items that can negatively impact a person's health and well-being," McCarty explained. "So why not require similar warning labels on those members of society - politicians - who have proven to be as dangerous - or more dangerous - than many items already required to carry warning labels!"

SAINT LOUIS (PRWeb) January 18, 2007 -- Because he believes nothing is more dangerous than a politician, Robert "Bob" McCarty launched the WARNING LABELS ON POLITICIANS™ campaign, an effort that targets candidates seeking the White House in 2008, regardless of political party -- Democrat, Republican or Independent.

"Warning labels already appear on drugs, cigarettes, pesticides and other items that can negatively impact a person's health and well-being," McCarty explained. "So why not require similar warning labels on those members of society - politicians - who have proven to be as dangerous - or more dangerous - than many items already required to carry warning labels!"

Through the WARNING LABELS ON POLITICIANS™ effort, the St. Louis-area resident is calling upon politicians from across the political spectrum to "stick" to their promises and agree to display warning labels on all literature, signage and advertising related to their campaigns.

First on his list are two U.S. senators, Hillary Clinton of New York and John McCain of Arizona.

"I'm calling on Senators Clinton and McCain to serve as examples for politicians at all levels of government," he said, citing their positions as party front runners for the White House in 2008. "If they want to be viewed as honest, upfront and transparent, they'll agree to place warning labels on all materials related to their campaigns."

The campaign, which is not affiliated with any nonprofit organization or political action committee, has prepared warning labels for a field of 19 announced or expected-to-announce candidates. That field, to date, includes nine Democrats (including John Kerry who dropped out Jan. 24) and ten Republicans. As other legitimate candidates surface, they will be added, McCarty said.
