"Turn Up the Music!" Wins 8th Award for Excellence - Children's CD featuring Lanny Sherwin is "Teacher's Choice"

Sandman Records' newest children's CD, Turn Up the Music!, has earned its 8th children's music award in just over a year. Sandman Records' President, Lanny Sherwin, announced that the CD was recently honored with a Learning Magazine Teacher's Choice Award for the Family.

"Turn Up the Music! is just a fun CD with a variety of songs that seem to appeal to children and parents alike, says Sherwin, who wrote, produced and sings on the CD. The lyrics are a combination of silly and serious. Some of the songs address acceptance and tolerance, doing our best, respect for nature and animals…but it's not preachy," he adds. "I try never to write down to kids. They are much more sophisticated about music than people realize. I just try to write for the whole family -- kids, parents, and grandparents." Turn Up the Music! also combines a myriad of musical styles including Doo-Wop, Pop, Motown, Rock, and Caribbean.
