Responses were obtained either by interview or by completion of an internet-based version of the questionnaire.

There is as yet no single dominant supplier in European markets, instead it is still a 3- 5 horse race with OpenLink Financial, SunGard Energy, Global Energy, Allegro, and home-grown systems dominating the market. Other vendors are also well known in European markets including Triple Point, Sakonnet Technologies and, Navita.
