SaskTel to Deploy v.1 Labs Self Installation Wizard

v.1 Labs today announced that Canadian ILEC SaskTel will deploy the CD Based Guided Self Installation Wizard in an effort to reduce the cost and complexity related to new customer installations. SaskTel will utilize the installation wizard for all new customer connections for wireless, xDSL, and dial up installations.

(PRWeb) February 14, 2007 -- v.1 Labs today announced that Canadian ILEC SaskTel will deploy the CD Based Guided Self Installation Wizard in an effort to reduce the cost and complexity related to new customer installations. SaskTel will utilize the installation wizard for all new customer connections for wireless, xDSL, and dial up installations.

The CD based version of the Self Installation Wizard is a more comprehensive version of the v.1 Labs Diskless Self Installation Wizard and guides the subscriber through the equipment installation process as well as completing the final service provisioning process.

The CD based Guided Self Installation Wizard is a new approach to first customer contact that eliminates the need for an installer to be on site and fully manages the installation process, from hardware to service installation. The process is totally configurable by the operator by simply editing a hosted configuration file. This allows operators to be confident that they will not be stranding investment in CD's that could become stale over time.
