Voxeo Adds Graphical Design Tool to Freely Downloadable Prophecy Voice Platform

Easily build IVR and VoIP applications without writing a single line of code.

Orlando, FL (PRWeb) February 21, 2007 -- Voxeo Corporation, an innovator in hosted and premise-based IVR and VoIP platforms, today announced Prophecy Designer, a major enhancement to its freely downloadable Prophecy Voice Platform for on-premise IVR system deployments. Prophecy makes telephony easy for developers who prefer to concentrate on building great voice applications, and Prophecy Designer adds an intuitive graphical development tool that dramatically simplifies application design and delivery. In its first year of availability more than 8,000 customers have downloaded Prophecy, making it the most rapidly adopted standards-based premise IVR platform since the original VoiceXML specification was published in 1999.

"It used to take an IT department days to get an equivalent state-of-the-art VoIP and IVR platform up and running. When we introduced Prophecy a year ago we were breaking new ground with a voice platform that could be downloaded and installed by anyone in just minutes," said Jonathan Taylor, CEO of Voxeo. "The market response has been incredible. With the addition of Designer to the free Prophecy download, virtually anyone can create IVR applications in just a few hours instead of the days or weeks previously required."

Over the last six months Voxeo customers have been able to create and deploy Designer applications using Evolution, Voxeo's hosted IVR service. One major provider of high-volume direct marketing services used Evolution Designer to create a lead capture system for direct marketing of medical products. The customer was able to build the application in hours and respond almost instantly to changing market demands. Prophecy Designer brings the same benefits to customers who prefer a downloadable, premise-based software solution over Voxeo's hosted Evolution alternative.

Prophecy Designer can be used to build a wide variety of speech-enabled or touch tone customer self-service or interactive voice response applications. Its graphical interface allows users to build call flows using easy visual "steps" and simple wizards with built-in voice application best practices. Designer "steps" include the basic building blocks of any IVR application: announcements and prompts, multiple choice questions, caller input, call recording, time-based routing, and call transfers. Designer's Data Integration Step supports easy web-service access to external data sources, which can then guide call flow via Designer's rule-based decision steps.

In addition to Prophecy Designer's simple, targeted self-service application deployment capabilities, Voxeo will continue to promote more comprehensive application development solutions from partners such as OpenMethods, Vicorp, and VoiceObjects for use with Prophecy and Evolution.

The Prophecy Voice Platform is a comprehensive system complete with a voice browser, native host media processor with SIP-compliant VoIP telephony, SIP softphone, web server with PHP and Java/JSP support, and SQLite database engine. Voxeo speech recognition and synthesis (ASR and TTS) are included with the platform, as well as an MRCP interface for easy integration to other leading speech engines. Prophecy is a certified VoiceXML 2.0 platform with support for VoiceXML 2.1, CCXML 1.0, and proposed CCXML 1.1 extensions. Prophecy supports outbound calling, conferencing, and call recording, and also comes with three open source applications: an auto attendant, voice mail, and conference manager.

The first two ports of Prophecy with Designer are available for free via one-click download at http://www.voxeo.com/prophecy.
