Mercantile Commercial Capital Reports Record Year for Commercial Loans in 2006

Mercantile Commercial Capital, LLC, which ranks as one of the nation's leading providers of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loans for small business owners who want to acquire or develop their own facilities, reported a record volume of commercial loans in 2006.

Altamonte Springs, Fla. Christopher Hurn, president and chief executive officer of Mercantile Commercial Capital, said the firm closed on 55 loans valued at $81,620,800 in 2006, a 79 percent increase over 2005.

Hurn said projects financed by Mercantile Commercial Capital in 2006 helped create more than 532 new jobs, up from 331 new jobs in 2005 or a 61 percent increase.

The firm's largest single loan -- $5.8 million -- financed the acquisition of a bowling alley in Hattiesburg, Miss.
