LeisureTyme.net and Soldiers' Angels Offer Challenge to Take a Vet Fishing

Soldiers' Angels announced today that it will be joining LeisureTyme.net, LLC ("LTN") in support of the New York-based company's Operation Take a Vet Fishing initiative.

Pasadena, CA (PRWeb) March 2, 2007 -- Soldiers' Angels announced today that it will be joining LeisureTyme.net, LLC ("LTN") in support of the New York-based company's Operation Take a Vet Fishing initiative. This initiative, originally a personal invitation by the CEO to take local U.S. Armed Forces Veterans fishing on his private boat this year, has begun to gain momentum with anglers nationwide via www.leisuretyme.net and the recently-created www.takeavetfishing.org.

Private anglers and commercial fishing boats are invited to "take a vet fishing" during the week of May 19-25, now declared as National Take a Vet Fishing Week, according to Andy Powers, the CEO of LeisureTyme.net. Anglers across the country who are interested in showing their appreciation to vets by inviting them to spend a day fishing are able to pair up with vets seeking to take advantage of this opportunity via the Operation Take a Vet Fishing forum at www.takeavetfishing.org.

"Bringing together the American civilian population with those who risk the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe demonstrates to the world the soul of America: the unity and pride that makes this nation great," stated Powers.

The official Tri-State Operation Take a Vet Fishing (OpTAVF) Tournament will be held during weekend of May 19 in the waters of Long Island Sound, Hudson River, Southern Long Island and the New Jersey near coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Manasquan. Prizes will be awarded Memorial Day at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como (formerly So. Belmar), N.J., along with other planned special events.

Corporate sponsorships sufficient to cover the cost of the tournament (including prizes and other expenses) and the Memorial Day ceremonial celebration will permit entry fees to directly benefit the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA); proceeds will also support new initiatives supporting soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Those interested in taking an early prominent sponsorship position should contact Andy Powers at 845-621-9538 or by email at a.j.powers@leisuretyme.net.

"Soldiers' Angels is proud to support LeisureTyme.net and its Take a Vet Fishing Initiative," said Patti Patton-Bader, founder of Soldiers' Angels, an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the support of our nation's past and current military members. "This is a great way to let our veteran heroes know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice."
