Musical Director John Beasley has a Nice Arrangement Going With Two of Television's Top Programs

Beasley serves dual role as music arranger for American Idol and musical director for the CW's newest TV show, Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.

(PRWeb) March 6, 2007 -- John Beasley's list of credits reads like a who's who of the entertainment business. Beasley was pianist, arranger, and composer for Pixar, Walt Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros., Universal, and Touchstone, and the list goes on and on. But it's his current gig as a musical guru on two of television's hottest programs that has Hollywood turning their heads and taking notice.

During the past two seasons of American Idol, Beasley has served as associate musical director or music arranger for the contestants. In season four, he was responsible for the 12 female finalists. He helped them choose songs, arranged them to the singer's key, rehearsed the contestants, and helped them with their overall presentation.

"Just about everything, but the actual singing," adds Beasley. That season, Carrie Underwood went on to win American Idol. In 2006-2007, Underwood has had remarkable success winning three major music awards, the Grammy, American Music, and Billboard. Now, Beasley has added another notch to his belt by serving as musical director for what promises to be one of the most watched shows of the season, "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" on the CW. The premiere episode airs this Tuesday, March 6 at 9 p.m./8c.

For The Search for the Next Doll, Beasley was handpicked by veteran record producer/President of Geffen and Interscope Records and judge on the show to shepherd 18 contestants to sing and perform America sits anxiously to see who will be the next Pussycat Doll. Always juggling multi-projects, Beasley just arranged a great song for Fantasia (Idol's third season winner) for her promo tour announcing her new role in the Broadway production of "The Color Purple." Last Friday, Beasley performed his arrangement of "Here's to Life" which was sung by jazz vocalist, Lizz Wright, on the televised Image Awards.

John Beasley is truly a unique and talented individual. He brings passion, intelligence and individualism to any project he is involved in. The most obvious beneficiaries of his talent will not only be the contestants, but the two national TV shows that saw the great value he added to the quality of their programs. And here's a heads up for musical celebs like Paul Shaffer and Kevin Eubanks. There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is John Beasley.
